Amanda and Matt
I knew it was going to be a gorgeous wedding, but was a little bit worried about the rain. But Amanda kept her spirits held up high and isn't rain on your wedding day good luck?!? Well it must have been for them because their wedding went beautifully! It was so organized and fun. Everyone had a great time, including me! I'll post their gallery later next week, but I just had to post a couple tonight since I got home early! :)

THANKS!
I wanted to get on my soapbox today and take a minute to thank all of the families I have worked with. Every single bride, groom, mom and family that I have worked with since I began Paris Mountain Photography have been such a pleasure. Even amidst the high stress of wedding day or high stress of children acting up, or scheduling appointments around bad weather, I have been so fortunate not to have worked with a bridezilla or momzilla....yet..... :) So thank you all! Thank you for being the best clients EVER! You ROCK!

Alisha & Ryan!
After taking a month off from shooting weddings I was back in the game with Alisha and Ryan and I had the most fun I've ever had at a wedding! Not only was everyone so nice and fun, but there were so many great details. My favorite?!? The photo booth! I loved sneaking in there to take photos of everyone's photos! And I had some fun of my own too... I had a ball. Thanks Alisha and Ryan for making your special day special for all of us! To see Alisha and Ryan's "Real Wedding" gallery click HERE.

Tiffany and Jason's engagment session
Tiffany and Jason were such good sports when we shot their engagement session at Primrose Cottage. Just as they arrived - the skies opened up. We spent some time inside, but then they braved the rain as I stood safely in a window. Tee hee. Though there was no end in sight, we headed over to Roswell Mill to shoot under the covered bridge at least, but just as we got there the rain stopped! So we climbed down to the water fall. Aside from some mud, wet trees and a toad, we came out unharmed and with some awesome photos!

They booked PMP!
Thanks so much to Mallory and Taylor! They are getting married in October 2010 and are planning their wedding perfectly on time. So often I get a call for fall weddings during the spring or summer, but I've already been booked a year in advance! So get those calls in and book ealry like Mallory and Taylor! Good job guys and congratulations!

Baby Tanner
When I shot their wedding last year Jamie and Daniel played the fight songs for UGA and Auburn and have had the rivalry for as long as they've been together. So when we shot little Tanner's newborn photos they insisted we include their team colors. To his mommy's pleasure, he has picked his favorite.

Amber and Michaels Engagement Session!
Amber and Michael drove all the way to Berry College in Rome, my favorite location for engagement photos! The weather called for sunny skies, but the shoot started out with a little sprinkle and ended with a little sprinkle. But nothing that could stop us from shooting their engagement photos. Amber and Michael were such a layed back couple and up for anything. Even when I asked them to lay down on the rocks! Thanks guys! Can't wait for the wedding next June!

Wedding Tips!
There are always a ton of questions about what I do to capture what I like to call "pre-wedding excitement!" I try to go with the flow, but a little bit of good planning always helps! I like to arrive at least 2 hours before the ceremony. That gives me enough time to spend with everyone.
Here are some important tips!
1. Have a good timeline so everyone knows when and where they should be. This will help family members, the groom and ME have a solid idea of where to go and it sets the tone for the pace for the rest of the day.
2. Have someone answer your cell phone for you. You don’t want to be chatting with Aunt Fran while you are getting dressed. Give your phone to the MOH or someone close by to take your calls and answer any questions for you. She can also coordinate when the groom should hide or come out for photos.
3. Keep the dressing area tidy! You are going to want these photos to look timeless and you paid for a gorgeous bridal suite, why muck it up with a bunch of target bags and trash around the room. The best bridal photos are when the room looks beautiful not like a 15 year old boy’s bedroom.
4. You should already have your hair and makeup finished when I arrive, but not dressed yet. This is when I like to take some detail shots of the dress you love so much and I’ll get some great shots of everyone helping you put your dress on too.
5. The bridesmaids and MOB should already be dressed and ready so when I arrive so they can help you put on your dress looking their best… not in sweatpants. :)
There are many more things, but oh so little time. I’ll keep adding as I think of more. I hope this helps and doesn’t add more things for you to have to think about!

Whitney's Senior Photos
I just finished working on Whitney's senior portraits. The thing I loved about Whitney is her smile. She was constantly smiling. Even when I told her to be serious, she'd burst out laughing. We had so much fun walking through Rockmart to take her photos. It was hot and humid, but as you can see, she looks great!

McGarity House
A few years ago I was driving along one day with really no where to go and I passed a gorgeous house in Paulding County. There was a sign and a phone number for the McGarity House, so I called and talked with the owner, Melita. She was so nice and offered to let me shoot engagement photos there whenever I needed. After talking for some time, we found out that her uncle is my neighbor! I quickly became fond of Melita, not just for the gorgeous southern style house to shoot weddings, but for her down to earth personality. In the wedding business there is a lot of "look at me" with their noses pointed high in the air, but I never found that to be the case with Melita. I think that's why we get along so well. She recently asked me to shoot some photos for her venue for an album. I just enjoyed spending the morning with her while taking some photos. It's working with people like Melita that makes my job so great!
Thanks for booking PMP!
Congratulations to Tiffany and Jason who are getting married in December of this year. I was so happy they booked becase not only are they a great couple, but they are getting married at Primrose Cottage! It's such a beautiful home. I can't wait to see what they have planned for their winter wedding! Thanks so much for asking me to take your photos!

I'm on Kate Aspen's Blog!
I was contacted by the oh so sweet ladies from Kate Aspen to submit some photos for their blog. I was happy to help them out. I love to see my photos on other peoples' websites! So I sent them over and they have been using them now and then. Not long after, I was browsing through a wedding magazine, as I sometimes like to do to get inspired. I turned the page, and there was a full page pink ad for Kate Aspen! I was so excited! It's great exposure for me and I get to help them out with some of my images for their blog. Do you feel the love.... :)

Fire!
We had the worst lightning storm in years last night. It was getting pretty loud and the kids woke up. I was feeding the baby in the living room, so I thought it would be fine to let the girls come downstairs until the storm passed. So we sat on the couch and listened to the thunder getting closer and closer. Then we heard zzzzappp....crack.... boooooommm! It sounded like it was just outside! As we huddled on the couch together, debating who was brave enough to get the flashlight in case the lights went out, there was a faint beeping sound. Then another, then another. The entire house was beeping at us and it took us a couple of minutes to figure out where it was coming from. Then, like when a cut on your arm doesn't really hurt until you see it bleeding, I smelled smoke! We all got up and I raced the girls out of the front door onto the porch. I ran in circles (literally) with the baby in my arms looking for my keys and phone. Then in the pouring rain and the lighting strobing all around us, we ran to the car. Dripping wet in the car I called 911 and my husband. A few minutes later everyone was there and went into the house. I didn't see or hear anything till I saw the garage door open in the basement and smoke came pouring out. Whew! Luckily it was just a small circuit in the basement that caught fire and melted. At the time, all I could think about in the car was the four of us dripping wet, scared but safe. Today I started thinking about everything else.
Year after year I think about taking photos of the house for insurance. Then I thought about our famiy photos, records and videos. Then I thought about my camera equipment and photo library! I have three backups for everyone's photos, but they all stay in my office...in the house! So today I decided to get a fireproof safe and put all of the essentials in there. We are changing our smoke alarms to have batteries in them because right now they are hard wired with no battery, so if the power goes out, no smoke alarm. Duh!
I posted some photos for this post to tell the story. Working at CNN and other news networks have taught me to always tell a story with pictures. So I included a photo of our house, lighting that I shot last year, three hard drives that make up my photo library for the past three years. I'll be moving them all on to one to store in a safe. My husband took a shot of the melted circuit and last and most important are my three beautiful girls who are safe and sound watching Saturday morning cartoons as I update my blog.
It's funny how things work to let you know how to be better prepared in the future. Hopefully nothing like this or worse would ever happen again, but if it did, maybe we can be better prepared because of last night. One thing we told the girls is that it was a good fire drill for us all and they did a good job. Every night I pray to the Lord to keep my family safe and he was surely watching over us last night!

My website has a new look!
Since I have taken the month of August off from shooting weddings, I have had a lot of time to catch up with accounting, albums, and creating a new look for my website! It really hasn't changed that much. Just the first page and some fonts to make it more user friendly. I've had a lot of great comments from clients about the big red car, so I HAD to keep it on there, but I added two more images to make it easier to find other links, like MY BLOG! Not that it will make much of a difference, but I think it looks prettier. :)

Congratulations Christy and Travis!

Fall Wedding dates are closed!
Fall weddings for 2009 are closed! I am still open for Friday or weekday weddings, but I finally decided to close the two remaining Saturdays I had left for fall for some R&R. It's such a blessing to have so many great weddings to shoot, but I deserve a little "me" time too! December 2009 is still open and I'm now booking through Fall of 2010, so keep those calls a comin'!

Atlanta Tourists
I've lived in Atlanta for over 10 years and I've never been to the Hard Rock Cafe. I guess you hear about people who live in NYC all of their life who've never been to the top of the Empire State Building. Although the Hard Rock is probably not as cool, it was to my 17 year old niece from AZ. She loved the city and loved the rock and roll. I also took her to Little 5 Points to take some shots of her at the Vortex since she's really into skulls. I tried to be the coolest aunt ever, but taking her picture made me loose a lot of "cool" points. Oh well. She loved the FO at the Varsity!

Laura and Josh are engaged!
I was so excited to meet Laura and Josh yesterday to book their wedding. I got to chat with Laura and her mom while Josh enjoyed his coffee while browsing at some of my photos. Thanks for indulging me Josh! Their wedding is next September in Dallas, GA and we'll be taking their photos at the same GORGEOUS house that I shot Christy's bridal portraits on my July 1, 2009 post. What a coincidence that they knew the same family. Not only that, I went to a church picnic a few weeks ago and saw them there and it turns out we go to the same church! Wow! It IS a small world after all..... (break into song now).

Summer Camping!
We took a couple of days off and went camping on Wildcat Creek this weekend. The girls had a lot of fun especially at the slide rock. It took some coaxing to get Hannah to go. The water had to be about 15 degrees! I went in the water too but there was no way they were getting me to go down the rock! When the sun went down I gave the girls some sparklers to play with and for me to practice shooting with! The next day we went boating. We didn't get to catch anything, but had a great swim in the warmer waters of Lake Burton. On the way back to the campsite we saw a bear cub walking through the forest! I didn't get a chance to snap that shot though. :(

Brooke's 6 month photos.
After taking photos of everyone else's family, I finally took an afternoon Friday to take some of my baby who turned 6 months old this week. I can't believe the time has gone by soooo quickly! Brooke is such a sweet baby. She is VERY spoiled though by grandpa who has ruined her for the rest of us. He always holds her and takes her outside, so when mommy needs to do dishes and put her in the pack-and-play, she throws a fit because she wants to be held and go outside! Thanks a lot Grandpa! :)

Thanks for booking PMP!
Today was such a fun day because I got to drive to Atlanta with my niece Tina and introduce her to the Chick-fil-A hand spun cookies and cream milkshake! While we were in town I also met with two couples; Bridgett and Jason, and Amber and Michael who booked me for their April and June 2010 weddings! When it rains it pours! No pun intended considering it is pouring rain at my house right now, but I'm planning three more appointments next week to book weddings through October next year. Then I'll take Tina to the Varsity for a frosted orange! Mmmmmmm.

Courtney's newborn photos.
Courtney called me last year to shoot her wedding, but I would be 9 months pregnant so I had to turn her down. I was so dissapointed, but when their little angel arrived last month, they called me to shoot her newborn photos! The session went so well and it was like she knew just what to do for every photo. And look how good Courtney looks just one month after she had her baby! Yeah... I'm a little jealous! :)

I'm on WEDDINGWIRE.com!
You can find my storefront on WeddingWire.com if you look for photographers in Atlanta. My profile will come up on the first page. Please take a look! Also, if you haven't reviewed me already, please do it at WeddingWire.com because I am the only photographer on page 1 without a review! We need to let those other girls know how fun I am!

Jamie's maternity photos!
It seems like just a few months ago that I shot Jamie's wedding.... wait a minute! It was! I shot her wedding last September at the Carl House. Click here to see her gallery It was gorgeous and she was a beautiful bride. Well, they didn't take long to start their family! Their baby Tanner is due in August, so she called me up to take her maternity photos and I get to shoot the little one when he arrives also. I can't wait! It's so fun for me to share these life changing moments with couples.

Summer Break!
After the spring and summer rush of weddings and portrait sessions, I decided to take the month of August off from weddings! Whew! In fact, there are only two dates left in the fall and I almost want to close them just to have a couple of weekends free. I still haven't decided yet though. It will be nice to have some time to catch up on albums, website design and all the paperwork! Not my idea of a great summer vacaton, but at least I can take my time with it. I'll still be meeting clients and shooting portraits, so feel free to set up those appointments.

Aundrea and William
I have been swamped this week so I'm finally posting some of Aundrea's wedding photos! Her dress was stunning and she made the perfect bride. She was calm and cool through all of the pre-wedding rush and never lost that gorgeous smile. The wedding was at the quaint little church she grew up in Duluth and all of the details were beautiful!

Kayla and Joshua
Kayla and Joshua's wedding had so many precious moments with family and friends. They got married at the beautiful McGarity House in Paulding County. It was a beautiful ceremony with a horse drawn carriage and the colors were gorgeous!
Shannon's Senior Portraits
Shannon is Christy's sister who I shot Engagement and Bridal portraits for earlier in this blog. She liked her photos so much that they called me to shoot her senior portraits at their family's home in Temple, GA. The whole family showed up for the session... even Georgia their English Bulldog!
Baby Carter
Katie had her baby boy, Carter, last week and called me the minute they got home so I could shoot Carter's newborn photos! Katie found me from a message board listing at CNN where I worked for 9 years before I started Paris Mountain Photography. Carter was very generous and gave us about 10 minutes of perfect smiles and looked straight into the camera! His photos turned out so precious!

Jen and David
I have been so busy this week that I'm finally posting a couple of Jen and David's wedding photos. Their wedding was so beautiful on the green grass at Windermere Golf Club. It was supposed to be a hot day, but some clouds rolled in. Then it was supposed to rain, but there was not a drop. So it turned out to be a perfect day for their wedding! There were so many great shots, I can't wait to post more on my "Real Weddings" link next week.

Braxton's photo session
I shot Braxton's brother's photos a couple of years ago so I was so excited to meet this little guy! He was so easy to work with and never fussed or cried. He just went along with anything that his Mommy and I had him do. We actually ended the photo session a little bit early because we got all of the shots we wanted without any problems. Thanks Braxton for being a little gentleman!

Christy's Bridal Session
When Christy originally called me to shoot her wedding in November I was so dissapointed because I was already booked. But she was so excited about my photography that she asked me to shoot her Engagement and Bridal photos anyhow. We met at a relative of her fiancee's house in Dallas on Saturday. It was breathtaking to say the least and a GREAT place for her bridal portraits! I wish I could shoot every bridal session there! I have posted just a few for a sneak peek!

She Booked PMP!
October is officially closed, unless you are getting married on a weekday. All of my Saturdays in October are booked and I'm so excited about Icie's wedding! We met today at Flint Hill in Norcross. It is such a gorgeous house! She is going to have a beautiful wedding. Thanks so much for letting me share your day with you Icie!

The White Family Portraits
I got the chance to shoot the White family at White Oak Park today.....Hey!... I never got that pun till just now! Funny! Anyhow, they were wonderful. Everything I asked them to do they just went right along with it. Even when I asked them to sit on the side of a hill in the middle of the road. And what a beautiful family they are! White Oak Park has just been added to my top 5 list of great locations!
